Valle del Cauca is proud to celebrate every year since 1997 the Petronio Álvarez Pacific Music Festival, an important cultural event that showcases the richness and diversity of the Afro-Colombian heritage.
This festival is an important stage for the music of the Pacific and the country, being nothing more and nothing less than the most important Afro festival in Latin America. It is a tribute to the cultural richness of the Afro-descendant communities and to Cali as the capital of the Colombian Pacific.

Experience a celebration that includes music, food, traditional drinks and ancestral knowledge of the communities of the Colombian Pacific.
Marimbas, flutes, clarinets, violins, guasás and bass drums, among others, are responsible for getting people dancing. The Petronio Nights are a party that celebrates the sounds and rhythms of traditional Pacific music.
The cuisine of the Colombian Pacific is renowned for its flavor, and the matrons carry in their hands the seasoning of a region. Ceviches, encocados, empanadas and a wide variety of seafood dishes are part of the delicacies that can be tasted.
Handcrafted products made with natural coconut fibers, banana straw and teapot, with a series of cheerful designs, remind us that the roots of the Pacific are linked to its land, its sea and its rivers.
Arrechón, tumbacatre, curado and tomaseca are some of the traditional drinks of the Colombian Pacific. Residents say they have aphrodisiac powers and are medicine for the soul and body.
The Pacific exalts Viche, Colombia’s unique, ancestral and curative native drink, the equivalent of Russia’s Vodka, Mexico’s Tequila, Peru’s Pisco, Scotland’s Whisky or Japan’s Sake.
