Humpback whale watching stands out among many of the wonderful natural experiences that can be enjoyed in this part of the country. Every year, between July and October, more than 3,000 humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) arrive in the warm waters of the Pacific coast of Valle del Cauca to begin their reproductive stage after having traveled about 8,500 kilometers from the distant Antarctica and southern Chile.
