Calima, a magical land
This territory was originally a settlement of the Calima indigenous culture , to which the municipality owes its name, and whose presence in these lands dates back 115 years.
Lake Calima, as the Calima Reservoir is known, has become one of the most important tourist destinations in the southwest of Colombia thanks to its climate, landscapes and tourist attractions. In addition, its strong and constant winds make this region the third lake in the world that offers very favorable conditions for learning and practicing sports such as kiteboarding (kitesurfing), windsurfing, optimist, among others.
